Should I take the ACT or SAT?
 >>Most universities will accept either but you should check with the specific school.  ASU, NAU &
UofA will accept either.  Community Colleges typically do not require that you take
      the ACT or SAT.
What is the difference between the ACT and SAT?
>>The ACT is an achievement test, measuring what a student has learned in school. The SAT is
more of an aptitude test, testing reasoning and verbal abilities. The ACT has up to 5
components: English, Mathematics, Reading, Science, and an optional Writing Test.

                             * Important Information on the Redesigned SAT
*The College Board is launching a new SAT in March 2016. While still assessing skills in reading, writing, and math, the new SAT focuses on the knowledge that current research shows is most essential for college and career readiness and success.

      Changes include:
          * There will be no penalty for wrong answers
          * The essay will be optional
          * The tests will look more like the work you're doing in class.

Where and when do I take the ACT and/or SAT?
>>The test dates and locations are located on the websites. Generally BHS students take the test
at Buena HS in Sierra Vista.
How do the colleges get my results?
>>Your official printed score report will be mailed to you, to your high school and to the colleges
you listed when your registered for the test.
Are there PSAT, ACT and SAT study guides and programs I can register for?
>>Yes.  Some are free and others are available for a fee.  See the specific test tab for links.

ASVAB

The ASVAB was originally designed to predict future academic and occupational success in military occupations. For students not planning to join the military, the results can be used to help students engage in career exploration. These scores help students to get a good sense of their verbal, math, and science and technical skills compared to other students in the same grade.

The ASVAB is offered at Benson High School to all 11th graders in November or December.
